What does this picture tell you about your health?
You are 6 years old. Helmet on, butterflies blazing in the stomach and a clenching grip on the handlebars. Poppa is holding on the seat and then he does the unthinkable…he lets go. Scary at first, but the more you rode, both your ability and pride increased. For many, this day is burned into our memory file.
Just as you know how to ride a bike, your body knows how to heal as well. Yes, the cells in your stomach lining are constantly being replaced daily. Every 90 days you get a new batch of red blood cells. Your skin is constantly shuffling off and turning to the dust accumulation on the floor. Even with a sore, broken bone or an illness your body knows how to heal. Yes, your body knows how to heal all of them; the good news…We don’t have to think about it. Yes, your body knows how to heal itself as long as there is no interference.
Back to the bike. You now know how to ride a bike but trying to do it with a 100-pound rock chained to the bike. Are you capable? No.
You see your body works the same way. We live through your nerves that regulate and coordinate every function of the body – Healing being one of them. So does it make sense to you that if the nervous system is working then they body should work a whole lot better. Interfere with the nervous system and now you are affecting the way the body works.
You see there are a lot of people out there that think that chiropractic care is JUST for neck and back pain. That is simply not true. It is much more than that. Many of those problems in the spine affect the nerves at a young age and will carry on through life. My job as a chiropractor is to detect and restore function to the nerves. Now your body is capable of doing more than you think…heal!
